Technical SEO Services — Crawlability, Indexing and Site Architecture That Works
My technical SEO services focus on building the structural foundation that organic performance depends on. I work with websites to improve how search engines access, crawl, and index content — and to ensure that the site’s architecture and internal linking distribute authority effectively to the pages that need it most.
I work directly on every engagement. No junior staff, no outsourcing. If your website has a persistent technical SEO problem that standard approaches have not resolved, or if you need ongoing senior technical support, get in touch to discuss your situation.
What I cover
Technical SEO consulting covers the infrastructure of organic search performance — the areas that determine whether search engines can find, access, and correctly interpret your content:
- Crawlability and indexation — ensuring the right pages are being crawled and indexed, identifying what is preventing indexation, and resolving crawl budget issues on larger sites
- Site architecture and internal linking — reviewing URL hierarchy, link depth of important pages, internal link distribution, and anchor text to ensure authority flows to the pages that need it
- JavaScript SEO and rendering — diagnosing cases where client-side rendering is preventing Googlebot from correctly accessing or indexing content, particularly on React, Angular, and Vue-based sites
- Core Web Vitals and page speed — identifying the causes of LCP, CLS, and INP failures and prioritising fixes by impact
- Log file analysis — understanding exactly what Googlebot is crawling, how often, and what it is receiving in response — the most precise diagnostic available for crawl behaviour
- Technical issue diagnosis and resolution — structured data errors, redirect chains, duplicate content, canonical misconfigurations, hreflang errors, and all other technical SEO problems that create drag on organic performance
Technical SEO services I provide
Depending on what your site needs, technical SEO work takes different forms:
- Technical SEO audits — a one-off structured analysis of the issues limiting your site, with a prioritised action plan. See the technical SEO audit service for full details
- Ongoing technical SEO consulting — retained support for sites that need a senior technical practitioner involved on a regular basis, particularly sites that are actively developed or scaling
- Site migration support — technical SEO input before, during, and after domain changes, platform moves, HTTPS transitions, or major URL restructures to protect rankings through the transition
- Implementation guidance — working with development teams to ensure technical SEO recommendations are implemented correctly and validated after deployment
Who this is for
Technical SEO consulting delivers the most value in situations where technical limitations are the primary constraint on organic performance — not content quality or link acquisition. The most common situations where this applies:
- Large or complex websites where crawl efficiency, duplicate content, and architecture issues are affecting the ability to rank at scale
- International or multi-market sites where hreflang implementation, geo-targeting, and managing indexation across multiple language versions creates persistent technical complexity
- Sites experiencing indexing problems — pages that should rank but are not appearing in search results, or traffic that has declined without a clear content-side explanation
- Websites with organic growth that has plateaued despite continued content investment, where the limiting factor is structural rather than topical
- Sites planning a major migration or redesign where technical SEO risk needs to be managed proactively rather than retrospectively
Why my approach is different
Technical SEO problems are rarely isolated. A crawl budget issue is usually also an architecture issue. A duplicate content problem is often also a canonical issue. An indexation failure frequently has a rendering component. My approach is to understand the full picture before prioritising fixes — because addressing symptoms without diagnosing root causes produces temporary improvements at best.
I also work with an awareness of implementation reality. A technically correct recommendation that cannot be implemented given the site’s development constraints, timelines, or resource availability is not a useful recommendation. Every fix I propose is assessed against what is actually achievable, not just what is theoretically optimal.
When technical SEO consulting is needed
Technical SEO consulting is most valuable when organic performance is being limited by structural problems rather than content or authority gaps. This is often the case when:
- Organic traffic has declined or stalled following a platform change, migration, or major site update
- Indexation is inconsistent — some pages ranking well while similar pages receive no visibility despite comparable content quality
- The site is growing in size or complexity and technical debt is accumulating faster than it is being addressed
- A previous audit has identified issues but implementation has stalled or the fixes have not produced the expected improvement
